In Addition to the Incarceration of the Elderly: Humanizing and Educational Proposals in the Brazilian Prision

Abstract

Aging brings in itself negative meaning. Such a meaning aggravates in situation of seclusion. The methodological procedures were based on a bibliographical study, and a search in the database, the articles found were organized and analysed and there was a lack of research on the imprisoned elderly woman, so that the field trip interviews a woman sentenced to deprivation of liberty in São Paulo, Brazil. The research data reveal that life in a closed regime is difficult for the elderly woman, and that it is necessary to rethink.
