Abstract

Critical thinking is one of the general aims of education, however little is known about how it can be transferred to the classroom. This study explores pre-service teachers’ educators critical thinking conceptualization and the learning environment they design to promote it. Five semi structured interviews were analyzed through content analysis. The results showed critical thinking was implicitly promoted through active learning in real-life contexts. This study reveals some challenges related to the design of learning environment and assessment procedures.
